About private GP care

What Does a Private GP Do?

A private GP provides the same breadth of general medical care as an NHS GP, but without waiting weeks for an appointment, or feeling rushed through a 10-minute slot. At Dr SNA Clinic, you receive the unhurried attention your health deserves, directly from a GMC-registered consultant surgeon.

Private GP care is appropriate for a wide range of health concerns: acute illness, chronic condition management, health screening, diagnostic blood tests, vaccinations, referrals to specialists, and second opinions on existing diagnoses.

  • Diagnosis and management of acute illness and infections
  • Ongoing management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and thyroid disorders
  • Comprehensive health screening and well-man / well-woman assessments
  • Blood tests and diagnostic investigations with prompt results
  • Travel health consultations and vaccinations
  • Referrals to specialist consultants across all disciplines
  • Sick notes, fit-to-travel certificates and medical reports
  • Prescription and medication reviews
  • Second opinions on diagnoses or treatment plans

Why choose Dr SNA Clinic

Private Medicine Done Properly

01

Consultant-Led, Not GP-Delegated

You are seen by Dr Syed Nadeem Abbas, a GMC-registered consultant surgeon, not a locum or junior doctor. That level of clinical expertise is rarely available at GP-level appointments.

02

48 Wimpole Street, Harley Street District

Our address places you within the most concentrated medical district in Europe. Specialist referrals, diagnostics, and second opinions are accessible from the same postcode, same day.

03

No Waiting Lists. No Rushed Appointments.

Appointments are available promptly. Consultation slots of 15, 30 or 45 minutes mean your doctor has the time to listen, examine, and explain.

04

CQC Regulated with Total Discretion

The clinic is registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. All patient records and consultations are held in strict confidence in full compliance with GMC guidance and UK data law.

05

Transparent, Itemised Pricing

Every fee is published clearly. There are no hidden charges, unnecessary add-ons, or surprise invoices. You know the cost before you attend.

06

Integrated with Specialist Networks

Where onward referral is needed, Dr Abbas draws on established relationships with leading specialists across all clinical disciplines.

Do I need to be registered as a patient before attending?

No. You do not need to register in advance. You are welcome to attend as a new patient without any prior paperwork. Simply contact us to arrange your appointment.

Will my health insurance cover the cost?

The majority of UK health insurance policies do not cover private GP consultation fees. We recommend checking your policy wording before attending. We provide itemised receipts for all consultations.

Can you provide referral letters and specialist access?

Yes. Where investigations or specialist input is required, Dr Abbas provides referral letters to consultants across all disciplines, including diagnostics available within the Wimpole Street and Harley Street area.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

Appointments are typically available within a short number of days, and often sooner. Please contact the clinic directly and we will confirm the earliest available slot.

Can you issue sick notes and fit-to-travel certificates?

Yes. Dr Abbas can issue all standard medical documentation including sick notes, fit-to-travel certificates, and insurance medical reports following a consultation.

Is my consultation completely confidential?

Absolutely. All consultations, records and communications are held in strict confidence, in full compliance with GMC confidentiality guidance and UK data protection law.
